Larry Fitzgerald has allocated $100,000 from the Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund for reading and technology grants to be made in September. The grants will support activities designed to close the technology gap, and to promote and improve reading skills, for K-12 youth. Only tax-exempt programs serving youth and K-12 schools are eligible. Grants in the amount of $5,000 - $10,000 will be made. For this initiative only schools and programs serving youth in Minnesota or Arizona are eligible.
Larry explained his reasoning in allocating these funds: “Reading aptitude and effective use of technology are both important cornerstones of academic success as well as personal enjoyment. With these grants we will be supporting programs that advance one or both of those components of academic achievement."
