Teen Lifeline will honor NFL All-Pro Receiver, Philanthropist and Arizona Cardinals All-Star Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald with the Alfredo J. Molina Community Lifeline Award at Teen Lifeline’s 2013 Connections of Hope: An Evening to Celebrate Arizona’s Youth at Montelucia Resort on November 1, 2013.

The 10th annual event is a night to celebrate and raise funds for the connections of hope found daily by troubled teens that call Teen Lifeline’s peer-to-peer hotline. Fitzgerald’s contributions to children in Arizona, and even internationally, have touched thousands of lives and encouraged those children to stay motivated and be their best.

“I didn’t know about the devastating problem of teen suicide in our community until I learned about Teen Lifeline. I witnessed firsthand the incredible work that is being done and the lives being saved by the amazing teen volunteers. I am grateful that I am able to support an organization that provides hope to kids during their most difficult times,” says Fitzgerald.

In 2005, the award was named in honor of the inaugural recipient, Alfredo J. Molina, for his service to Arizona youth and our community.

”Every teen is a precious jewel, and we must do our part to support them, help prevent suicide and allow them to become brilliant. Year after year, I am committed to the success of this organization,” says Molina.

Fitzgerald has provided his own connection to hope to children and has also had a special connection to Arizona kids through his First Down Fund. This charity was established by Fitzgerald to help children and their families by funding positive activities for kids during the summer and throughout the year, supporting kids and families in crisis, and supporting health-related organizations that work with families.

“We are so proud to be honoring Larry with this award. His investment in the health, happiness and well being of the children in Arizona speaks volumes about his generous heart,” says Teen Lifeline Executive Director Michelle Moorhead.

The annual fundraising dinner is co-chaired by Shannon Barthelemy and Amanda Eisenfeld and features local youth entertainment, a delectable dinner, an auction and an opportunity to support Teen Lifeline’s mission. Tickets start at $250 per person. For more information, please visit www.teenlifeline.org or call 602.248.8337.
